This three-day symposium will discuss the various cardiovascular conditions affecting the fetus and the newborn and provide opportunity for enhancing practical skills in diagnosing and managing those conditions.
Learning Objectives:
• Define the embryogenesis, genetics, morphology, pathophysiology, and clinical manifestations of the various cardiac defects encountered in the fetus and neonates.
• Describe the differences in cardiovascular physiology and manifestations of cardiovascular diseases and cardiac rhythm disturbances in the fetus and the newborn, and discuss how they affect the management of the fetus and the newborn.
• Review medical, interventional and surgical management of discussed diseases affecting the fetal and neonatal cardiovascular system.
• Discuss diagnostic methods for diagnosing cardiac conditions affecting the fetus and the neonate.
• Apply the discussed imaging techniques in scanning sessions to enhance proficiency in fetal echocardiography to improve diagnostic accuracy.
• Develop imaging skills during interactive scanning sessions, collaborating with fetal cardiologists, sonographers, and application specialists to learn the latest advances in fetal echocardiography.
