Description:
This year’s UNC TEACCH Autism Program Conference focuses on community collaborations that truly make an impact on the lives of autistic individuals across the world. Presenters will cover community collaborations to support autism diagnoses in rural communities and to support mental health interventions through collaborations with early intervention providers, educators, and autistic adults.
Learning Objectives:
At the completion of the conference, participants will be able to:
• Identify strategies to support listening to the voices of autistic adults and families in creating and implementing community services for autistic children and adults.
• Explain how mental health services can be provided through a collaboration between mental health clinicians and non-clinician partners.
• Describe how to create supports for autistic children and their families in rural, low-resourced communities.
