2024 American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Annual Meeting is organized by American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and will be held from May 28 - 31, 2024 at Hynes Convention Center, Boston, Massachusetts, United States of America.

Objectives:

At the conclusion of the Annual Meeting, participants should be able to:

• Analyze state-of-the art and innovative basic science, applied science, and clinical medicine in the areas of exercise, fitness, health, and physical performance.
• Recognize the importance of basic science research as it relates to diseases and conditions that exist due to physical inactivity.
• Assess how physical activity research and practice contributes to public health and health equity in diverse populations.

Clinically Specific Objectives:

• Incorporate new guidelines into the care of the secondary school athlete to prevent injuries and illness and enhance safe return to play in their sport.
• Develop strategies to counsel patients with congenital heart disease to participate in physical activity to improve function and quality of life.
• Determine which athletes with acute or chronic musculoskeletal injuries can safely return to play in their sport.
• Explore treatment options in the care of athletes with bone stress injuries to improve recovery and allow safe participation in sport.  
• Incorporate best practices in the evaluation and treatment of endurance athletes in order to improve athlete performance.
