Trauma and Acute Care Sonography - Blended Course is organized by Gulfcoast Ultrasound Institute (GCUS) Inc. and will be held on Nov 17, 2023 at Gulfcoast Ultrasound Institute, St Petersburg, Florida, United States of America.

Overview:
The Blended Trauma and Acute Care Sonography Training Course provides participants a strong foundation to perform the core ultrasound applications as outlined in the ACEP emergency ultrasound practice guidelines. This course format incorporates a comprehensive, interactive online course with video lectures and case presentations with fifteen (15) months unlimited access to content plus (1) One Day (6 Hours) of our industry-leading 3:1 participant-to-instructor hands-on scanning ratio with live models and phantoms (for interventional procedures) at the GCUS education facility located in St. Petersburg, FL. 

The Blended Trauma and Acute Care Sonography Training Course is specifically designed for physicians, sonographers and other medical professionals who need trauma and acute care sonography training in a flexible yet comprehensive format. Complete the online course from home, work, or even your mobile device at your convenience and still obtain the hands-on skills training to become confident and competent in performing Trauma and Acute Care Ultrasound exams. For the best ultrasound education experience, completion of the online course prior to hands on scanning is recommended.

Objectives:
• Demonstrate the participant's knowledge to better perform and/or interpret trauma ultrasound examinations.
• State the basic fundamentals of ultrasound physics and demonstrate appropriate optimization of system controls.
• Perform ultrasound evaluation of the trauma patient and pneumothorax (e-FAST).
• Demonstrate scan protocols for focused evaluation of the adult heart.
• State an algorithm for uses of bedside ultrasound for differential diagnosis of shock in a trauma patient.
• Recognize the sonographic appearance of individual nerves and list the advantages provided when ultrasound is used for performing regional nerve blocks.
• Perform ultrasound evaluation of the lung, ocular, soft-tissue, musculoskeletal, and fractures.
• Perform ultrasound-guided vascular access.
Perform ultrasound-guided procedures for emergency and critical care applications: thoracentesis, paracentesis, pericardiocentesis, lumbar puncture, endotracheal tube placement.
