Remote Emergency Medical Technician (REMT) 2023 is organized by the College of Remote and Offshore Medicine (CoROM) and will be held from Apr 24 - 29, 2023 at the College of Remote and Offshore Medicine, Pretty Bay, Southern Region, Malta.
Description:
The REMT course is intended for individuals looking to operate in remote and challenging environments anywhere in the world and require an EMT certification. Students from the security, energy, international guide, and academic businesses have participated in the program. This training will benefit you if you work or spend time in harsh locations where access to medical care is frequently delayed, communication could be more consistent, and it will take place over six days. Mountaineering professionals, such as expedition leaders, professional guides, close protection team leaders, and members of search and rescue teams, are expected to have the REMT and the WFR certification.
Certifications: Remote EMT and an optional Tactical Responder
The REMT course provides medical skills and didactic learning for those looking to work in austere, remote, and resource-poor environments.
IBSC Tactical Responder:
REMT graduates are eligible to take the board-certified tactical responder (TR-C). The TR-C demonstrates competency in casualty assessment and stabilization in hostile and extreme environments. It supports the paramedic role and a thorough knowledge of tactical principles, triage, and functional medicine. Operators who are TR-C-qualified candidates work in a team. They often have a primary security role with a secondary medical role.
