Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this program, participants should be better able to:
• Utilize a comprehensive geriatric assessment to identify potential issues
• Describe the primary care workup of incontinence in older adults
• Assess and manage gait disorders to prevent falls
• Discuss strategies for the management of difficult behaviors in patients with dementia without the use of psychotropic medications
• Evaluate weakness and recognize cardinal features of Parkinson's disease as well as other movement disorders
• Discuss evidence-based management options for Alzheimer’s disease
• Describe the differential diagnosis of headaches and migraines
• Utilize prevention and treatment strategies for cerebrovascular disorders
• Identify the risks and benefits of utilizing bisphosphonates in the treatment of osteoporosis
• Define common etiologies of endocrine hypertension
• Develop patient-specific treatment plans for the management of type 2 diabetes
• Diagnose and tailor treatment strategies for type 1 and type 2 diabetes
