OVERVIEW

American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS) 54th Annual Meeting is organized by the American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS) and will be held from May 12 - 15, 2022 at Philadelphia Marriott Downtown, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States of America.

Target Audience:
The target audiences for these programs include members of the ACMS, dermatology residents and Fellows-in-Training, non-member physicians, and surgical assistants who work with ACMS members.

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of the Annual Meeting, participants will be able to describe the latest advances in the treatment of skin cancer, discuss recent research findings in the area of Mohs micrographic surgery and cutaneous oncology, and explain new techniques in reconstruction that promote optimal surgical outcomes. Specific learning objectives, upon completion of the ACMS Annual Meeting, include:
• Design and execute Mohs stages and routine and advanced reconstructions of the nose, eyelid, lip, cheek, and ear;
• Describe current recommendations for diagnosis and treatment of melanoma and high-risk non-melanoma skin cancer;
• Recognize potential errors in frozen section examination of skin cancers and develop ways to minimize those errors;
• Recall the benefits and techniques involved in utilizing immunohistochemistry in the treatment of melanoma and nonmelanoma skin cancers;
• Refine reconstruction and scar revision techniques to improve cosmesis and function post Mohs surgery;
• Describe outcomes in dermatologic surgery that improve quality outcomes and patient satisfaction.
• Explain proper billing and coding practices for Mohs and reconstructive surgery;
• Maximize collaboration with colleagues in other disciplines (medical, surgical, radiology, pathology, radiation oncology) to
improve patient outcomes;
• Identify elements of the preoperative history that require management;
• Review the most recent literature regarding dermatologic surgery and cutaneous oncology;
• Describe recent developments in the management of skin cancer in organ transplant recipients and other immunosuppressed patients.
