Description:
 This forty-eighth annual course is designed to provide the practitioner with state-of-the-art information regarding the pathogenesis and treatment of a variety of disease states. Recognized guest lecturers and members of our own faculty will give sharply focused clinically oriented talks on a range of topics.

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of the course participants should be able to:
• Review current concepts regarding the role of inflammation in CKD and cardiovascular disease, recent advances in the management of CKD/ MBD, and the endovascular non-surgical approach to the creation of AV fistulas. 
• Discuss conservative kidney care management as an alternative to dialysis and the importance of patient-reported outcome measures in ESKD.  
• Outline the results of the CKiD study in pediatric CKD patients, strategies for transitioning the pediatric ESKD patient to the adult nephrologist, and the basics of pediatric nephrology that are important for the adult nephrologist. 
• Explain new insights into the pathogenesis and treatment of minimal change disease, recent advances in the treatment of lupus nephritis, and management of the pregnant woman with lupus nephritis. 
• Describe the effects of Covid- 19 infection on the kidney and its impact on kidney transplant recipients. 
• Summarize the results of key literature articles of the past year in the areas of glomerulonephritis, CKD and dialysis, and transplantation and be prepared to implement this knowledge in clinical practice.
