Improving Quality and Safety in Your Endoscopy Unit is organized by the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) and will be held on Oct 02, 2021, at ASGE Institute for Training and Technology (IT&T), Downers Grove, Illinois, United States of America. This conference is also held as Virtual.
Overview:
Join them virtually for this highly popular course that was developed by ASGE to educate physicians and non-physician staff of endoscopy units on how to translate quality and safety concepts into everyday practice. Through a mixture of didactic lectures and interactive sessions taught by leading experts in the field, participants of the course will advance their knowledge of endoscopy unit quality and safety, as well as discuss emerging trends and evidence. They will also be prepared to apply for the ASGE Endoscopy Unit Recognition Program or be able to renew their current participation.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this educational activity, participants will be able to:
• List 2-3 ways you can define and measure quality in endoscopy.
• Recognize techniques described to make your endoscopy unit more efficient and safe.
• Indicate 1 method learned you could use to improve patient satisfaction in your endoscopy unit, specifically areas that aid in doctor-patient communication.
• Define potential sources of infection from contact with various body fluids, transmissibility during an endoscopic procedure, and the susceptibility to potential disinfectants.
• Discuss measures you could use within your unit quality assurance program, including sedation and monitoring and unit accreditation and re-accreditation.
