76th Ogden Surgical-Medical Society (OSMS) CME Conference in 2021 is organized by Ogden Surgical-Medical Society (OSMS) and will be held from Oct 06 - 08, 2021 at Ogden Eccles Conference Center, Ogden, Utah, United States of America.

Description:
The 2.5-day Ogden Surgical-Medical Society (OSMS) conference will present national, regional, and local experts on infectious disease, primary care, and current medical issues. The OSMS conference will supply needed continuing medical education (CME) while focusing on topics in infectious disease such as antimicrobial stewardship, public health responses to infectious disease in the past and present, and recent and past cases of infectious disease. At the completion of the medical conference, attendees will have a better idea of how to treat, manage, and educate their patients by:

• Addressing what’s new in specialty medicine (and when to refer) concerning innovations in diabetes; testosterone treatment; infectious disease (ID) pediatrics; pediatric and adult immunizations; psychiatric medical clearance; cardiology; oncology; ID dermatology; hepatitis; and diabetic foot care;
• Identifying current medical issues (and when to refer) concerning infectious disease cases; antimicrobial stewardship trends; infectious disease in public health; recent and past history of infectious diseases; COVID-19 testing; neuropsychological assessment; PrEP; scribes; Utah medical marijuana (Utah law and physiology, pathology, and pharmacology of the endocannabinoid system); and DOPLapproved opioid prescribing;
• Experiencing hands-on performance skill labs concerning osteopathic manipulations for musculoskeletal neck and back pain; and epistaxis;
• Improving competence and performance in clinical practice for patient care by addressing the mentioned current medical issues and through review or integration of new or improved discoveries of current medical issues;
• Identifying recent changes in health care laws and policies and discussing how they impact the medical practice and practitioner;
• Enhancing competence and performance skills of the interdisciplinary team to improve care of patients needing primary and/or specialty care. The intent is to facilitate productive, collegial action between the medical team, including physicians, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, social workers, and first responders.
