The theme is coined to focus on the actual practice in community oncology centers rather than at highly selected academic institutions in a restricted research environment. In randomized clinical trials, there are enormous restrictions in the recruitment of patients based on super-selective inclusion and exclusion criteria. However, in routine practice we see patients with a wide variety of clinical situations that may not match with patient care followed in research without any restriction of cost, multiple investigations, hospital visits, and quality assurance. In the real world scenario, especially in developing countries, we face numerous challenges while managing complicated cancer patients. This is an annual congress of Malaysian Oncological Society.
