OVERVIEW

Vascular Microenvironment in Lung Health, Disease and Translation is organized by Fusion Conferences Ltd and will be held from Jul 18 - 21, 2027 at Dolce CampoReal Lisboa, Lisbon, Portugal.

Description:
The vascular microenvironment of the lung comprises dynamic interactions between endothelial, epithelial, immune and mesenchymal cells that collectively regulate pulmonary homeostasis, tissue repair, and regeneration. These multicellular niches shape endothelial cell states throughout development, aging, and disease, influencing susceptibility to injury, vascular remodeling, and regenerative capacity. Emerging research has provided new insights into the cellular and molecular mechanisms governing vascular niche formation, cell-cell communication, and tissue remodeling. Advances in spatial omics, bioengineering, advanced organoid models, stem cell biology, and gene therapy are accelerating the translation of fundamental discoveries into precision therapies for lung disease.

This meeting will bring together leaders and emerging investigators across vascular biology, regenerative medicine and translational medicine to explore vascular compartment as a key driver of lung health and disease across the lifespan. The scientific program will span the full spectrum of vascular niche biology, from the fundamental mechanisms governing vascular development and endothelial cells specification to the cellular and molecular pathways driving vascular remodeling during aging and lung diseases. Subsequent sessions will focus on the role of stem cells as well as on perivascular cell interaction including emerging discoveries of how endothelial cells communicate with epithelial, stromal, immune, and extracellular matrix components to coordinate tissue homeostasis, regeneration and pathological remodeling.

Recognizing the rapid pace of technological innovations, the conference will also showcase advances in tissue- engineering, cutting-edge technologies, multi-omics and cell therapies that are transforming our knowledge of vascular biology. Finally, dedicated translational session will emphasize how discoveries in vascular biology are being translated onto clinical innovation through the development of therapies and translational research, fostering collaborations among academia, clinicians and industry.

Key Sessions:

  • Shaping the vascular niche: developmental programs and cell state.
