The Clinical Practice of Modern Caries Disease Management is organized by Northern California Dental Society (NCDS) and will be held on Feb 26, 2027 at Red Lion Hotel Redding, Redding, California, United States of America.
Description:
Clinical practice today uses scientifically sound evidence-based approaches. There is a noticeable shift to the caries treatment paradigm by better preventing and managing caries as a disease.
Although this presentation will provide a brief scientific overview of contemporary caries disease management principles, the key focus will be the clinical implementation of the science including caries risk assessment, the utilization of chemical treatments for caries disease at the patient level, and minimally invasive dentistry (MID) at the tooth level. New tools, such as the ADA Caries Classification System (ADA CCS), selective caries removal, and chemical approaches like silver diamine fluoride (SDF) and glass ionomer cement (GIC), will be explored in detail. Additionally, practical clinical cases will be presented to illustrate these concepts effectively.
The presentation provides an excellent update relevant to clinical applications for the dentist, dental therapist, hygienist, assistant, and front office.
