OVERVIEW

Practical Ways to Achieve Targets in Diabetes Care (ATDC) Conference 2027 is organized by Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes (BDC) and will be held from Jul 20 - 23, 2027 at Keystone Conference Center, Dillon, Colorado, United States of America.

Description:
The ATDC conference has been an integral part of education and case-based study of upcoming and new diabetes technology for over 35 years. This is an annual course designed to help healthcare providers caring for patients with diabetes, including but not limited to: endocrinologists/diabetes specialists, internists, pediatricians, family physicians, physician assistants, medical residents and fellows, advanced practice nurses, nurses, dietitians, social workers, and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialists (CDCES).

Attendees will have an opportunity to interact with leaders in the field and participate in detailed question and answer sessions with the experts. The 2027 ATDC conference will explore many facets of treating patients with both T1D and T2D. Key topics include the expanding therapeutic impact of incretin therapies, emerging fully closed-loop automated insulin delivery (AID) systems, and advanced pharmacological options addressing comorbidities like metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD/MASH) and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD).

The ATDC conference places a heavy clinical emphasis on the expanding role of incretin therapies and GLP analogs, evaluating their systemic benefits well beyond traditional glycemic control. Key plenary sessions will address critical updates regarding guidelines for medical procedures involving GLP analogs, as well as the economic realities and structural supply chains behind GLP manufacturing and distribution. Furthermore, the conference explores the intersection of GLP therapies with broader metabolic diseases, highlighting their use as primary targets for cardiovascular risk reduction in patients with MASLD/MASH, and treating the neurological mechanisms of the obesity pandemic.

This year’s conference emphasizes cutting-edge clinical strategies for both T1D and T2D diabetes, bridging structural laboratory advances with practical clinical guidelines. Attendees will explore novel mechanisms such as siRNA therapies, gene therapies, and beta-cell regeneration models alongside clinical data evaluating continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) replacing oral glucose tolerance tests (OGTT). The final portions of the conference pivot toward complex real-world implementation challenges, highlighting FDA regulations on over-the-counter CGMs, mass T1D screenings, and clinical insights regarding the co-administration of GLP-1 analogs with AID systems.
