OVERVIEW

Practical Updates and Life Hacks in Dermatopathology is organized by United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP) and will be held from Sep 29 - Oct 01, 2027 at USCAP Interactive Center, Palm Springs, California, United States of America.

Description:
This dynamic, interactive microscopy course is designed to help participants stay current in the rapidly evolving field of dermatopathology. Through real-world cases and hands-on microscopy, participants will learn the latest cutaneous tumor classification, novel diagnostic entities, and the appropriate use of ancillary testing. Case-based discussions will also address common diagnostic challenges in neoplastic and inflammatory skin diseases, with an emphasis on recognizing key histopathologic clues and applying practical strategies (“life hacks”) at the microscope. It is intended for dermatopathologists, surgical pathologists, and pathology trainees seeking to sharpen their diagnostic skills in dermatopathology.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify unique histomorphologic features and genetic aberrations in melanocytic, mesenchymal, and hematolymphoid skin neoplasms.
  • Predict underlying molecular changes in specific skin tumors by paying close attention to histomorphologic clues.
  • Diagnose rare and newly emerging inflammatory dermatoses by integrating histopathologic findings and clinical data.
  • Discuss the optimal use and limitations of ancillary studies in dermatopathology.
