OVERVIEW

Manual Therapy for the Stiff Shoulder is organized by Summit Professional Education and will be held on Feb 07, 2027 in Flushing, New York, United States of America.

Description:
Shoulder stiffness can occur for a variety of reasons, and it is condition for which patients may commonly seek therapeutic intervention. Patients with shoulder stiffness may experience significant difficulty performing activities of daily living due to insufficient ROM and functionality.

This course will assist clinicians with identifying the most appropriate examination tests and measures by presenting recent diagnosis-related research for the shoulder complex. A case-based clinical reasoning approach will provide participants with the ability clearly communicate findings with patients and colleagues. Manual therapy techniques will be presented through both live demonstration and clear, conciseillustrated hand-out materials. Clinicians with all levels of experiences and expertise will be able to effectively managepatients with shoulder dysfunction using a hands-on manual therapy approach.

Highlights:

  • Effective evidence-based treatment interventions based on anatomy and biomechanics
  • Provide a 15-minute systematic examination that includes differentialdiagnosis for the shoulder complex
  • Provide consistent, accurate, and systematic approaches to enhance palpation of structures in the shoulder region
  • Confidently review patient history and examination information as a means of making appropriate patient plan of caredecisions
  • Lab-time for joint mobilization and soft-tissue techniques practice to address pain and glenohumeral joint limits

Learning Objectives:

  1. Examine typical shoulder function and range of motion.
  2. Provide a patient examination of stiff shoulder and interpret patient plan of care decisions.
  3. Examine anatomy and biomechanics of stiff shoulder.
  4. Skillfully perform appropriate joint mobilization and soft tissue techniques to address a stiff shoulder for return to for return to activities of choice including ADL/work/play tasks.
