OVERVIEW

GI Pathology Essentials: Where We Are Now and Where We Are Headed is organized by United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP) and will be held from Feb 08 - 10, 2027 at USCAP Interactive Center, Palm Springs, California, United States of America.

Description:
This is an advanced course for pathologists, fellows, and residents aiming to deepen their expertise in gastrointestinal pathology and stay current with evolving diagnostic approaches. Led by faculty with recognized expertise in the field, the course covers drug-induced gastrointestinal injury, autoimmune and inflammatory disorders of the GI tract, mesenchymal tumors, infectious and systemic GI disorders, and unusual polyps/polyposis or molecularly defined neoplasms.

This course emphasizes practical application, combining recent molecular insights and evolving diagnostic strategies to support excellence in both academic and private practice settings.
This course is a collaboration between the Rodger C. Haggitt Gastrointestinal Pathology Society (GIPS) and USCAP.

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this educational activity, the attendees will be able to:

  • Apply current and evolving diagnostic criteria to enhance accuracy and consistency in evaluating drug-induced gastrointestinal injury and autoimmune or inflammatory disorders of the GI tract.
  • Integrate histologic, immunophenotypic, and emerging molecular findings to classify and diagnose mesenchymal tumors of the GI tract.
  • Recognize key histologic patterns and apply appropriate ancillary studies to accurately diagnose infectious and systemic diseases affecting the GI tract.
  • Evaluate uncommon and molecularly defined GI polyps/polyposis and neoplasms using integrated morphologic and molecular approaches to enhance diagnostic precision and clinical relevance.
