Description:
This course provides an in-depth, case-based approach to the diagnosis of challenging lymphoid and plasma cell disorders, with emphasis on entities that feature diffuse lymphohistiocytic backgrounds, prominent plasma cell components, and complex bone marrow involvement. Through integrated morphologic, immunophenotypic, molecular, and clinical correlation, participants will develop practical strategies to distinguish neoplastic processes from their reactive mimics and to recognize unexpected or composite pathologies.

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this educational activity, the learner will be able to:

• Recognize and characterize lymphomas and reactive conditions that present with a diffuse lymphohistiocytic background, integrating morphologic, immunophenotypic, and clinical features.
• Differentiate reactive B, T, and plasma cell disorders from neoplasms in the bone marrow, with emphasis on clinically significant mimics and pitfalls.
• Apply a systematic diagnostic approach to amyloidosis in lymph nodes, lung, and bone marrow, including recognition of associated lymphoproliferative and plasma cell neoplasms.
• Identify and appropriately interpret unexpected findings in bone marrow pathology that have important diagnostic, prognostic, or therapeutic implications.
