This workshop will include a variety of topics, including up-to-date myofunctional therapy protocols based on our latest research.
We are introducing a completely new grading scale that can easily be implemented into your practice. The Breathe MYO Team has worked closely with Dr. Zaghi to identify a more readily implementable method for screening and classifying the following adaptations.
Also, for the first time ever, we will be introducing our ‘scoping’ protocols for therapists, and teaching a) what ENTs are looking for and how b) to properly and effectively refer the right patients to ENTs.
- Implement the latest myofunctional therapy protocols into their practice, as developed by the Breathe MYO Team and Dr. Zaghi.
- Classify the objectives and targeted muscles for common myofunctional therapy exercises used for pre & post frenuloplasty.
- Describe TBI’s ‘scoping’ protocols for therapists to enhance understanding of ENTs' expectations and effective patient referral.
- Explain the concepts and principles of establishing nasal breathing as a prerequisite for surgery.
- Analyze operational reports to recognize critical observations and insights.
- Perform intra and extra oral stretches, including lip and tongue stretches, for pre and post tongue and lip-tie release myofunctional therapy.
- Evaluate tongue-ties using an established grading system and tongue-space clinically.
- Interpret post-operative reports and clinical findings to develop appropriate, individualized pre- and post-surgical therapy plans.
- Address common post-operative patient comments or complaints effectively, improving surgeon-patient confidence and care.
