Description:
Ultrasound imaging is one of the fundamental methods of rheumatological examination. Joint sonography, in particular, is a highly specific differential diagnostic tool for rheumatologists in both clinical and private practice. The structure and content of the course series adhere to the quality criteria of the current ultrasound agreement (KBV) and the German Society for Ultrasound in Medicine (DEGUM). The current curriculum comprises three consecutive 2.5- or 1.5-day courses. 

Each course can also be taken individually; the final course also serves as a refresher. Practical exercises in small groups with tutors typically comprise at least 50 percent of the course duration.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of ultrasound examination and examination techniques
  • Knowledge of physical-technical processes and techniques
  • Comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of joint sonography
  • Practice of sonography of the joints of the upper and lower extremities
  • Muscle, tendon and nerve sonography
  • Knowledge of the sonographic-diagnostic characteristics of individual joints
  • Practice in the assessment and comparative diagnosis of rheumatopathological findings in particular
  • Differential diagnosis, injection techniques
  • Extra-articular sonography in rheumatic diseases such as vasculitis and collagenoses
