Educational objectives
After participating in this educational activity, participants should be able to:
- Discuss the basic principles of ultrasound imaging, equipment, functionality, aseptic technique and local anesthetic selection for ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia.
- Identify and describe the surface and ultrasound anatomy for a wide variety of blocks for surgery and trauma.
- Apply peripheral nerve block ultrasound scanning and needling techniques.
- Demonstrate practical aspects of single shot and continuous peripheral nerve block performance.
- Describe the principles of diagnosis and management of complications of regional anesthesia.
