OVERVIEW

Tackling Complex Knee Injuries: From the Weekend Warrior to the Elite Athlete is organized by American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) and will be held from Nov 13 - 14, 2026 at Arthrex global,  Naples, Florida, United States of America.

Description:
The athlete’s knee presents some of the most challenging problems in sports medicine. From complex ligament instability to meniscal deficiency and cartilage injury, successful treatment requires a deep understanding of anatomy, biomechanics, and advanced reconstructive techniques.

Case-based learning and panel discussions will focus on tips and tricks to avoid complications and optimize outcomes. Learners will leave with enhanced confidence and technical skills to navigate the most demanding knee cases - from on-field decisions to surgical management and return to play.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learners will understand the normal anatomy and biomechanical principles of the knee as a foundation to address complex injuries in athletes.
  • Learners will understand the salient history, relevant physical examination findings, and appropriate imaging studies for the athlete from on-field evaluation to the definitive treatment.
  • Learners will perform hands-on cadaveric reconstructive ligamentous, meniscal, and articular cartilage procedures of the knee with hands-on input and assistance from experienced faculty members.
