The 2026 Trauma Research Symposium at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla (SMHLJ) will provide Scripps Health staff, health care professionals, and community members with an opportunity to delve into the latest developments in trauma research conducted at SMHLJ. This collaborative event will bring together Scripps Health clinicians, researchers, and a nationally renowned keynote speaker to share knowledge and educate attendees on current and ongoing research efforts. The symposium will focus on the clinical implications, broad applicability of findings, and future directions in trauma research. Its goal is to increase awareness of research initiatives and promote greater engagement across the organization.

Objectives:
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Summarize recent developments in trauma research at SMHLJ.
  2. Identify strategies to incorporate new evidence-based strategies into clinical practice.
  3. Discuss the impact of SMHLJ’s trauma research on the local community, as well as the generalizability to the region and on a national scale.
