Overview:
The San Diego Genitourinary Annual Course in Oncology (GUACO) is designed to provide clinicians and advanced practitioners with a comprehensive update on the management of genitourinary malignancies, with a focus on prostate, bladder, and kidney cancers. This educational activity will feature expert faculty presentations on current standards of care, evidence-based treatment algorithms, and emerging therapeutic advances. Interactive case-based discussions and multidisciplinary panel sessions will further examine the application of new data to complex clinical scenarios. At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be better equipped to incorporate evolving treatment strategies into practice, with the goal of improving patient outcomes, enhancing quality of life, and advancing the quality of care for individuals with genitourinary cancers.
Objectives:
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Describe the current landscape of prostate, bladder, and kidney cancers, including epidemiologic trends, diagnostic advances, treatment strategies, and persistent challenges in patient management.
- Evaluate current evidence-based best practices and emerging approaches in the management of localized and advanced genitourinary malignancies.
- Apply optimal clinical strategies for the appropriate use of available treatment modalities in the management of genitourinary cancers.
- Integrate multidisciplinary collaboration and shared decision-making into the management of complex genitourinary oncology cases to support coordinated care and improve clinical outcomes.
