Pterygoid Implant Live Patient Surgical Externship is organized by California Implant Institute (CII) and will be held from Dec 09 - 12, 2026 at California Implant Institute (Rosarito, Mexico campus), Playas De Rosarito, Baja California, Mexico.
Description:
The pterygoid region provides an alternative anchoring point for implants in cases of highly resorbed maxillary ridges with insufficient bone volume. Pterygoid implants provide increased stability and support while eliminating the need for bone grafting procedures, which can simplify the overall treatment process. Pterygoid implants most often are placed using immediate loading protocols.
In this 4-day comprehensive live patient program, doctors will learn pterygomaxillary anatomy, CT scan evaluation, placement overview (position of patient, insertion and angulation, implant placement tools, suturing, and postoperative care), as well as complications and their solutions.
Key Educational Objectives:
• Implement step-by-step pterygoid implant surgical protocols on live patients under the direction of Dr. Louie Al-Faraje and staff.
• Expedite transition from the classroom to surgically placing pterygoid implants in your office with predictability.
• This program may be taken independently or concurrently with the All-on-4 Surgical Externship.
