Join us for an engaging full-day symposium, “Pathway to Managing Periodontal Diseases & Complex Implant Cases in Everyday Practice,” designed to advance clinical knowledge and practical skills in periodontics and implant dentistry. This program brings together faculty members in Department of Periodontics to explore important topics, including the oral-systemic approach for periodontal care, advanced strategies for persistent periodontal cases, management of congenitally missing teeth, and evidence-based prevention and treatment of implant-related diseases. Attendees will gain actionable insights through evidence-based learning objectives, fostering collaboration and improving patient outcomes across diverse clinical scenarios.

Periodontal Care to Make Man Whole:

• Recognize there is a person behind the mouth seeking oral health care
• Explore evidence on how oral health and systemic condition are connected
• List conditions warrant collaboration with primary care physician

Scaling Up for Periodontal Success:

• Recognize the clinical signs and risk factors indicating when non-surgical periodontal therapy is unlikely to succeed
• Explore evidence-based therapies to enhance outcomes in persistent periodontal cases
• Select appropriate surgical interventions when escalation of care is warranted

My Patient Has Multiple Congenitally Missing Teeth. What Can I Do?  

• Identify the main etiologies and classifications of dental agenesis, and distinguish between straightforward and complex clinical cases
• Recognize the consequences of agenesis on maxillomandibular growth and bone volume
• Plan an implant treatment adapted to the patient’s age, growth stage, and anatomical constraints

The Early and Late Implant Diseases:  

• Differentiate peri-implantitis / mucositis from periodontitis
• Identify risk factors and etiological contributors to peri-implant disease and conditions
• Describe evidence-based strategies for the prevention and management of peri-implant.
