OVERVIEW

Mass Eye and Ear Sialendoscopy Course: Practical Management of Salivary Gland Disorders is organized by Mass General Brigham Office of Continuing Professional Development and will be held on Jul 17, 2026 at Mass. Eye and Ear, Main Campus, Boston, Massachusetts, United States of America.

Description:
Sialendoscopy has transformed the management of salivary gland disorders by enabling minimally invasive, gland-preserving treatment of obstructive disease. This one-day, in-person course provides a practical review of the current role of sialendoscopy in the diagnosis and treatment of salivary gland disorders.

Through focused lectures, expert panel discussions, case-based learning, and live demonstration of office-based sialendoscopy, participants will explore management strategies for salivary stones, ductal stenosis, and complex or recurrent disease. The program also examines complications, outcomes, and management strategies beyond sialendoscopy.

The course concludes with a hands-on lab session where participants will gain practical experience with sialendoscopy instrumentation, duct access, diagnostic and interventional techniques using non-cadaveric models.

Designed for surgeons across experience levels, the course emphasizes practical insights that can be directly applied to clinical practice.

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Apply sialendoscopy in the diagnostic evaluation and treatment planning of obstructive salivary gland disorders.
  2. Select appropriate endoscopic and combined treatment strategies for salivary stones and stenosis.
  3. Develop management strategies for patients with persistent or recurrent symptoms requiring treatment beyond sialendoscopy.
  4. Demonstrate familiarity with sialendoscopy instrumentation, key procedural steps, and troubleshooting techniques.
