Introduction to MSK Ultrasound Workshop 2026 is organized by Physician Assistants in Orthopaedic Surgery (PAOS) and will be held from Mar 21 - 22, 2026 at The Westin Dallas Southlake, Southlake, Texas, United States of America.

Description:
Introduction to Musculoskeletal Ultrasound is an introductory course for PAs and nurse practitioners to learn basic principles of ultrasound and its applications to orthopedics. This course teaches the principles and techniques of proper ultrasound scanning with lectures and hands on scanning. Attendees learn normal anatomy, techniques of visualization, recognition of abnormal findings, and hands on instruction of ultrasound scanning. The focus will be on small group learning and hands on rather than solely lecture based.

Learning Objectives:
Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:

  • Identify normal ultrasound appearance and anatomy of the shoulder, elbow, knee, and hip
  • Recognize and discuss common pathology found in each body region
  • Demonstrate proper ultrasound scanning technique and protocols
  • Demonstrate injection techniques performed under ultrasound guidance and practice needle guidance and optimal visualization.

This program is provided by PAs in Orthopaedic Surgery. This program was planned in accordance with AAPA’s CME Standards for Live Programs and Commercial Support of Live Programs.
