OVERVIEW

Infiltrative Cardiomyopathy Symposium is organized by Heart Failure Society of America (HFSA) and will be held on Dec 05, 2026 at College Park Marriott Hotel & Conference Center, College Park, Maryland, United States of America.

Course Description:
Infiltrative cardiomyopathies, including cardiac amyloidosis and cardiac sarcoidosis, are complex and often underdiagnosed conditions that require early recognition, specialized evaluation, and coordinated, multidisciplinary care. This educational course is designed to address key knowledge gaps among clinicians by providing up-to-date information on diagnostic strategies, pharmacologic therapies, and advanced treatment options, including ICD and pacemaker implantation, LVAD therapy, and heart transplantation. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how to identify and manage these conditions using a patient-centered and team-based approach.

Through expert-led lectures, real-world case discussions, interactive Q&A sessions, and a keynote address from a recognized leader in the field, this course will offer practical, clinically relevant tools to enhance decision-making and improve outcomes. Attendees will be better equipped to recognize the signs of infiltrative heart disease, utilize advanced imaging and referral pathways, and implement comprehensive treatment plans in collaboration with subspecialists across cardiology, electrophysiology, imaging, and heart failure care.

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  • Recognize unique conditions in patients with heart disease, including cardiac amyloidosis and cardiac sarcoidosis.
  • Identify the appropriate timing for specialized diagnostics and referral to specialists.
  • Describe the evaluation process for suspected infiltrative cardiomyopathy.
  • Explore the most current treatment modalities for infiltrative cardiomyopathies, including pharmacologic options, advanced heart failure therapies, and interventional therapies.
  • Review the selection criteria for ICD and pacemaker implantation.
