Comprehensive Program:
Program Summary

Over 100 presenters consisting of ophthalmology’s brightest minds will help take your skills to the next level and explain how to incorporate cutting-edge procedures and technologies into your practice. In addition to today’s hot topics, you’ll receive a comprehensive update on every aspect of your practice. Plus, extend your learning beyond the meeting room by attending nightly banyan tree sessions featuring open discussions in a relaxed, outdoor setting. Comprehensive Ophthalmologist Program attendees are also able to attend sessions of interest under the Retina Program. Retina Program:
Program Summary
This program is designed by and for retina specialists, offering updates on the most recent advances and their integration into everyday practice as well as insight into varying challenges, including the implementation of new diagnostic and treatment modalities. In a relaxed setting, faculty and attendees can discuss specific cases, new therapy and imaging technologies and the latest surgical strategies. This program offers a non-concurrent schedule including: Breakfast programs, general sessions, exhibit breaks, lunch programs, workshops, banyan tree sessions and special events (all included in the single registration fee except the luau). Retina Program attendees are also able to attend sessions of interest under the Hawaiian Eye Comprehensive Ophthalmologist Program.

• Detail updates in imaging and new technologies, their use in evaluation and prognosis, and OCT findings and predictors in specific retinal diseases and conditions.

• Assess the safety, efficacy, and use of new treatments in the management of age-related macular degeneration.
• Summarize the latest information about the management of macular degeneration, the use of drug delivery, gene therapy, as well as the treatment of geographic atrophy.
• Explore new insights on the management of diabetic eye disease including DRCR Retina Network trial data, the use of artificial intelligence, and retinal detachment repair.
• Examine management strategies for retinal vascular diseases including the detection of paracentral acute middle maculopathy, as well as the imaging and treatment of retinal vein occlusion.
• Review the utility of multi-modal imaging, use of anti-VEGF, and treatment of uveitis in pediatric patients.
• Describe current management strategies for uveitis, as well as for ocular tumors.
• Explore insights and practical considerations in the management of inherited retinal diseases, the use of gene and cell therapy, and optogenetic strategies for restoring vision.
• Assess techniques and technology that can improve retinal surgery outcomes including the management of diabetic retinopathy, floaters, retinal detachment, macular hole, as well as the use of 3D surgical systems.

Nursing Program:
Program Summary
This is a 5 day program which runs Monday, January 19 – Friday, January 23, 2026. Each day sessions will run from 7:25 am to 12:00 pm with two thirty minute breaks during the instructional period. This program is designed for Beginning to Advanced levels. Didactic lectures will be enhanced by PowerPoint presentations and handouts.

This program is planned to address the current environment for ophthalmic medical personnel, whether you work in the office or the ASC. We bring together leading clinical investigators to share what is in the pipeline as well as surgeons, imagers and other clinical experts to explain new techniques. The atmosphere is conducive to open conversation and the sharing of ideas.

Learning Objectives: General Sessions (Monday-Friday)
Sessions specific to nurses and allied health professionals will be held Monday – Friday. Benefit from didactic and interactive presentations given by more than 20 faculty members. Gain experienced perspective from all aspects of your practice as well as every ophthalmic subspecialty area.

• Discuss potential complications of aesthetic ocular procedures.
• Explain the differences between acquired ptosis and droopy lids caused by a malfunction of the neural pathway to the muscles in the upper lids.
• Identify the symptoms of pediatric optic nerve disorders including optic neuritis, papilledema, and optic nerve hypoplasia.
• Assess current science regarding the treatments of demodex and other ocular surface diseases.
• Discuss how multiple departments of one entity can ensure full compliance and develop a plan to alleviate risk.
• Describe new advances in phakic and other refractive IOLs including premium lenses for glaucoma patients.
• Develop an awareness of governmental and industry endeavors regarding refractive IOLs that may be counter to public interest.
• Discuss ongoing research of glaucoma devices, pharmaceuticals, and procedures.
• Identify the newest anti-VEGF treatments used to treat retinal pathology.
• Describe new advances in the management of pediatric retinal disorders.
