The upcoming FESSH Congress in Basel, 2026, focusses on "Restoration of the Balance to improve Hand Function". This theme explores the complex interplay of structures required for a balanced optimal hand function. Skeletal stability, joint congruency and harmony between intrinsic and extrinsic ligaments as well as muscles and tendons all contribute to balance. Innervation, vascularity, and central nervous control regulate and maintain these functions.
