Course Description:
Upon successful completion of this course the attendee will have learned how to differentiate TMD from other conditions. The course attendee will learn how to evaluate and utilize evidence-based treatments for TMD.
Learning Objectives:

• Differential diagnosis of TMD
• Other orofacial pain conditions and headache disorders mimicking TMD
• Common misdiagnosis and how to prevent them
• Review of treatment modalities including oral appliances, botulinum toxin injections, trigger point injections, joint injections, medications and TMJ surgeries
• When to treat, and when to refer the patient with TMD to an orofacial pain specialists or other provider
• The connection between sleep disorders and TMD
