Dynamics of Disease Transmission: From Genomes to Infection Control is organized by European Committee on Infection Control (EUCIC), European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) and will be held from Feb 19 - 20, 2026 at Multiscale Imaging Centre (MIC), Munster, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.

Description:
The EUCIC advanced module in Münster focuses on the application of modern methods and techniques such as whole genome sequencing (WGS) and real-time PCR assays for infection prevention and control (IPC) efforts. It is a hands on course with practical sessions, including analysis of real outbreak data inside and outside of a hospital.

Objectives:
Participants will have the opportunity to be taught by top experts and learn how to interpret WGS data for infection control purposes and will get deeper insights into the requirements to generate WGS data, current analysis tools, and the chances and pitfalls of using WGS for routine surveillance in the hospital.
