Description:
Infection Prevention is critical to ensure the safety and health of both the Dental Clinician and the patient. By developing a systematic approach to managing infection control, higher levels of safety for the practitioner and the patient will be achieved. We will discuss the use of Standard Precautions and Best Practices to become CDC/ OSHA compliant.

Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:

• Understand the principles of infection control
• Identify standard precautions and transmission-base precautions
• Implement effective sterilization and disinfection protocols
• Respond appropriately to exposure incidents and breaches in protocol
• Stay compliant with CDC, OSHA and state guidelines

Dental Ethics is a necessary element of the Dental Profession. Use of a framework in ethical decision making is crucial in answering difficult questions and handling uncertain situations. We will discuss the elements of ethics in healthcare and how to address ethical concerns with a systematic decision tree.
