Description:
The purpose of this meeting is to present state-of-the art clinical research and vascular biology relating to surgical aspects of vascular disease. The program will include presentations of original research by investigators in the field of Vascular Surgery and other areas of practice building. A significant portion of the program has been reserved for question-and-answer interaction between the presenters and the audience.
Program Objectives:
This activity is designed for physicians. Upon completion of the course,
1. Compare the key findings of CREST-2 from a vascular surgeon’s perspective and their implications for contemporary carotid disease management.
2. Analyze the current evidence supporting transcarotid artery revascularization (TCAR) versus transfemoral carotid stenting in asymptomatic carotid disease.
3. Assess the evolving role of carotid endarterectomy (CEA) in the management of asymptomatic patients in the post–CREST-2 era.
4. Apply CREST-2 data and guideline recommendations to clinical decision-making for patients with asymptomatic carotid stenosis.
