OVERVIEW

Continuum 2026: 21st Annual Convening International Association of Providers of AIDS Care (IAPAC) Conference is organized by International Association of Providers of AIDS Care (IAPAC) and will be held from Jun 22 - 24, 2026 at Caribe Hilton, San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Theme: Health Beyond Silos

Description:
The conference will showcase the latest evidence, strategies, and innovations in HIV prevention, treatment, and care while placing them within the broader context of person-centered, integrated care. Recognizing that people living with and affected by HIV experience a range of health conditions across the life course, the conference will highlight primary care integration, aging and longevity, cardiometabolic health, and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) as core priorities alongside HIV-specific outcomes.

The conference’s framing acknowledges that optimizing HIV outcomes requires attention to the total health needs. By linking HIV care more explicitly to cardiometabolic health management (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, obesity, cardiovascular disease), as well as to broader primary care services, the Continuum 2026 conference reflects a holistic model of person-centered care. The conference will focus on breaking down barriers between HIV-specific services and broader health systems.

Thematic Tracks:
The six conference tracks reflect an integrated vision for advancing health outcomes:

  • HIV Prevention: Biomedical, behavioral, and structural interventions
  • HIV Treatment: Advances in ART delivery and person-centered HIV care
  • HIV Care Continuum: Closing gaps across prevention and treatment continua
  • Primary Care and HRQoL: Integration to enhance outcomes and well-being
  • Cardiometabolic Health: Prevention/management of cardiometabolic conditions
  • Implementation Science: Translating research into clinical practice at scale

Learning Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  • Implement strategies to improve HIV prevention and treatment outcomes within integrated models of whole-health and person-centered care.
  • Apply implementation science principles to deliver high-impact, scalable HIV and other health interventions across diverse health systems.
  • Demonstrate how community engagement in HIV prevention/treatment, primary care, and cardiometabolic health enhances patient engagement.
  • Assess the impact of SDOH on HIV, cardiometabolic disease, and overall health outcomes, and apply multidisciplinary approaches to reduce disparities.
  • Integrate primary care, cardiometabolic prevention and management, and HR-QoL considerations to optimize long-term health outcomes
