This two-day hands on course will provide detailed methods to improve clinical patient care and will demonstrate how endodontic therapy can be systematic, predictable and enjoyable.

Dr. Abdennour will focus on various aspects of endodontic care; diagnosis, endodontic access, instrumentation and obturation. The goal of this program is to acquire the knowledge base to deliver efficient endodontic care while reducing mid-operative mishaps, ledging and transportation.

Non-surgical endodontics such as access, diagnostics, chemo-mechanical cleaning and shaping, comprehensive consent forms, documentation, endodontic re-treatment. Apical and peri-radicular surgery will also be discussed.

Course Objectives:

1. Efficient rotary instrumentation: Advantages of conservative taper preparation as a “Safe technique” will be introduced resulting in efficient instrumentation for different intracanal configurations.
2. 2Debridement of irregular canal anatomy; Accelerated and enhanced disinfection will be discussed. The benefits of intracanal ultrasonic activation will be presented. This simple and often ignored procedure improves the long-term prognosis of endodontically treated teeth. Non- surgical endodontic re-treatment and advantages of new apex location techniques. Equipment will also be discussed.
3. Endodontic canal obturation: A 3-D bonded canal filling method incorporating Bio-Active sealer technology, precise obturation of large under-developed irregular canals and one visit apexification will be discussed one step at the time.
4. Restoration of endodontically treated teeth; perforation repair on new and existing perforations; safe endodontic access on crowns and safe post removal techniques will be discussed.
5. Effective Non-vital Intra-coronal Bleaching
6. Principles of peri-radicular surgery: Root resection, apical preparation and Bio-Active retro-obturation techniques.
7. Recognize how and when to preserve teeth when treating radicular fractures.

The Hands-On portion of the program covers:

• Rotary instrumentation with conservative taper which increases the long-term resistance and retention of endodontically treated teeth.
• Use of Bio-Active sealers: Obturation using “cold” 3-D Condensation. Perforation repair techniques using the latest Bio-Active root repair materials.
• Placement Bio-Active (Bio-mimetic restorative materials) and how they can be used with Bio-Ceramics in endodontics.
• Simulated canals will be provided for your learning experience.
