OVERVIEW

Cancer Neuroscience 2026 is organized by Neuroscience School of Advanced Studies (NSAS) and will be held from Oct 03 - 10, 2026 in Venice, Veneto, Italy.

Description:
Cancer neuroscience, situated at the intersection of cancer biology and neuroscience, examines the reciprocal relationship between cancer cells and the nervous system. Building on pioneering discoveries that glutamatergic synapses drive glioma progression, recent studies have revealed the interaction of cancer cells with neurons of diverse regions and neurotransmitters in both the CNS and PNS. Studies of these interactions are not only revealing new insights into cancer biology and how cancer cells affect the nervous system, but also leading to clinical trials that target these interactions.

The Advance Course invites participants to interact with pioneers and leaders in this emerging new field to discuss methodologies, new discovers and future directions on studies of how the interaction between cancer cells and the nervous system impacts both tumor infiltration, progression, and metastasis and leads to dysfunction of the nervous system, as well as how discoveries can be translated into new treatments of cancer for patients in clinics.
