OVERVIEW

Bridging Gaps in Osteopathic Medicine is organized by Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine (WMED) and will be held on Sep 16, 2026 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, United States of America.

Description:
Over 10% of WMed faculty have training in osteopathic medicine or have graduated from a school of osteopathic medicine. This conference aims to bridge the gaps in knowledge and practice for clinical faculty who have not trained in osteopathic medicine and re-engage those clinicians with prior training who have not practiced their skills in quite some time. Ever wondered how you could use osteopathic medicine to support your patients? This conference will provide an opportunity to explore how this can be a useful modality. As part of this conference, workshops and plenaries are planned via concurrent sessions to develop and support multiple skill levels.

Objectives:

  • Describe osteopathic medicine opportunities relevant to their clinical practice.
  • Demonstrate osteopathic medicine maneuvers relevant to their clinical practice.
  • Describe osteopathic medicine opportunities relevant to specific populations.
  • Explain the regions, and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatments provided, that may be addressed in hospital patients.
