AO Spine Principles Course — Degeneration und Trauma - Decision Training, Hand-on and Complication Management is organized by AOSpine and will be held from Apr 24 - 25, 2026 at Anthering, Salzburg, Austria.

Description:
The course is based on structured lectures, interactive case discussions, and practical workshops using artificial bones. This is intended to form the basis for intensive interdisciplinary exchange between course participants and lecturers.

Goal:
Participants will be able to:

  • Correctly diagnose and classify spinal injuries
  • Correctly diagnose common pathologies with acute spinal complaints
  • Apply therapeutic options and surgical techniques
  • Develop surgical skills in practical workshops
  • Learn the basics of decision-making in interactive case discussions.

Participants are cordially invited to bring their own cases for interactive discussion.

Objectives
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize emergency situations and patient needs
  • Clinical, neurological, and radiological diagnostics
  • Principles of surgical stabilization of the spine
  • Decompression of the spinal cord and spinal nerves
