Description:
This two-day, interactive course engages participants through a series of case discussions related to complex injuries and scenarios. This active learning approach is further enhanced through practical exercises where advanced surgical correction skills will be practiced using real implants and human anatomical specimens. Online self-directed learning: During the 4 weeks before the in-person event, participants must complete short self-study modules that will provide the necessary theoretical background and surgical technique descriptions to obtain the most from their course.
Goal:
This hands-on course covers advanced techniques for managing complex spinal trauma. Participants will perform high-level procedures such as posterior upper cervical fixation, occipitocervical fusion, C1–C2 instrumentation, thoracic and lumbar corpectomies, and sacroiliac screw placement. The course includes minimally invasive approaches and navigation-assisted procedures to prepare surgeons for the most challenging trauma scenarios. Also, participants will learn the key classifications and how to apply them for complex cases.
