OVERVIEW

AO CMF Seminar - Post Traumatic Deformities and Emerging Technologies is organized by AO Foundation and will be held on Nov 17, 2026 in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.

Description:
This one day seminar is designed through a combination of focused presentations, case based discussions, and mixed reality and navigation setup: a demo, covering emerging technologies in management of post traumatic acute and chronic facial deformities. Expert faculty will moderate all activities in a highly interactive learning environment. Participants are encouraged to discuss the content in an open manner under the guidance of experts who will share their tips and tricks.

Goal:
The seminar focuses on best practices and state-of-the-art techniques in post-traumatic acute and chronic facial deformities, to reach the best aesthetic and functional results using varies new technologies and endoscopic surgery. Faculty will address the perioperative aspects of managing the CMF patient, including clinical algorithms and the appropriate use of advanced software and technologies. Rather than visually analyzing CT images, newer technologies allow the craniomaxillofacial surgeon to plan and execute surgical steps with efficiency and improved outcomes. Computer-based planning and simulation, along with three-dimensional design capabilities, provides greater precision and customization for patients. Strong emphasis will be given to workflow optimization to help the participants develop their professional competencies and enhance their knowledge.

Objectives:
Upon completion of the seminar, surgeons should be able to:

  • Analyze the patients’ aesthetic and functional problem correctly
  • List all possible treatment options
  • Discuss clinical evidence for the integration of computer assisted-planning and navigation In craniomaxillofacial surgery.
  • Apply technologies, and communication strategies throughout treatment process to improve patient outcome including discussing treatment options and secondary correction.
  • Demonstrate the steps involved in computer-assisted preoperative planning, and intra-Operative navigation and repair for the cranium, orbit, midface and mandible.
  • Describe how 3D-planning, endoscopic surgery and customized implants can improve patient outcomes.
