6th EULAR Autumn Course Days 2026: A Postgraduate Course for Rheumatologists is organized by European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology (EULAR) and will be held from Oct 22 - 24, 2026 at Hotel NH Danube City, Wien, Austria.

Course Description:
For rheumatology and medicine in general it holds true that only well-educated and well-trained medical doctors can comprehensively and rapidly translate recent advances into clinical medicine to achieve the best clinical outcomes that improve the quality of our patients´ lives. Therefore, education and training are necessities for success. At the same time, they represent a complex matter since modern and effective training methods and techniques are used to continuously teach new facts, theories and book-knowledge, refresh memories, and gain and improve practical skills.

In this regard, our 6^th EULAR Autumn Course has been designed to explore new avenues in education by purposely mixing modern teaching formats. Our course aims to provide insights into several different diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of the modern management of RMDs. 

In this unique 2.5-days course, attendees will have an opportunity to network and have intensive interactions with experts in the field in Meet the Expert sessions. They will also be able to discuss with the main authors of recently published EULAR recommendations about the way they were developed and listen to authors who have recently published important articles talk about their work. The interactive and open way of discussion will permit to participants to present their own ideas and ask questions during round table discussions. Evaluation and feedback from participants and instructors will be collected in order to further optimise future events designed in this modern teaching format.

Learning Objectives:

• Apply up-to-date, evidence-based strategies for the diagnosis and management of common RMDs such as osteoporosis, gout and rheumatoid arthritis.
• Recognise and appropriately investigate rare and complex systemic RMDs (e.g. Sjögren’s disease, relapsing polychondritis, Cogan’s syndrome, SLE).
• Integrate comorbidity assessment (cardiovascular risk, malignancy, interstitial lung disease) into routine clinical decision-making for patients with inflammatory RMDs.
• Interpret and discuss recent EULAR and international recommendations.
• Identify risk of disease development or complications (e.g. arthralgia at risk of RA, lymphoma risk in Sjögren’s, fracture risk in inflammatory RMDs) to guide preventive and early therapeutic interventions.
• Evaluate and manage difficult-to-manage inflammatory rheumatic diseases, balancing efficacy and safety.
• Develop structured clinical reasoning through interactive case discussions, improving the ability to manage challenging real-world scenarios.
• Critically appraise and translate recent high-impact research publications into practical changes in patient care.
• Enhance professional networking through direct interaction with leading experts and fellow young rheumatologists.
