3 Day (Neonatal/Pediatric) ECMO Training & Simulation Course is organized by ECMO Advantage and will be held from Nov 02 - 04, 2026 at Integration Health Simulation Center, Murfreesboro, Tennessee, United States of America.

Description:
This ECMO Training & Simulation course  is jointly provided by Postgraduate Institute for Medicine and Integration Health and includes:

  • Self-paced e-learning modules to be completed prior to in-person training.
  • 1-Day of didactic training. This day includes in-person scenario-based training, an engaging panel of Integration Health educators, and introductory hands on learning.
  • 2- Days of high-fidelity simulation. Learners will rotate in small groups of 3-4 people through immersive high-fidelity simulations. Each simulation is followed by a debrief with all course attendees.
  • Access to Post-Course Resources for 30 days.

After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:

  • Discuss the indications and contraindications for ECMO support.
  • Explain the different modes of ECMO support.
  • Identify circuit components and discuss their purpose.
  • Explain ECMO physiology. 
  • Assess and explain the adequacy of support for VV and for VA ECMO.
  • Describe the process of ECMO weaning for VV and VA ECMO.
  • Manage and troubleshoot the ECMO Circuit.

Additional details:

  • Training time is 8am-5pm each day.
  • This course is intended for Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, Perfusionists and other healthcare professionals who care for patients with severe respiratory or cardiac failure requiring ECMO support.
  • This course meets didactic and simulation requirements for ELSO certification. Documentation can be provided upon request.
  • Course size is intentionally limited to maximize the hands-on experience for learners.
  • Scrubs are recommended (Life-like simulations can get messy).
  • Lunch is provided from our favorite local restaurants. Snack, Coffee, and other beverages are plentiful.  We do our best to meet a variety of dietary needs, but cannot guarantee items are allergen free. We do have fridge space available for anyone who would like to bring their own food.
