OVERVIEW

2026 Latin American Conference on Lung Cancer (LALCA) Conjunction with the International Thymic Malignancy Interest Group (ITMIG) Annual Meeting is organized by International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC), International Thymic Malignancy Interest Group (ITMIG) and will be held from Nov 12 - 14, 2026 at Grand Hyatt Sao Paulo, Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Theme: “Connecting Latin America to the Forefront of Cancer Treatment”

Description:
This year’s meeting brings together a vibrant, multidisciplinary community committed to advancing care for patients with thoracic malignancies across the region and beyond. LALCA has a long-standing tradition as a dynamic forum for collaboration, education, and innovation, and we are proud to continue that legacy alongside our ITMIG colleagues.

The scientific program features the most up-to-date research and a broad range of educational sessions led by internationally recognized experts. Through invited sessions, parallel oral abstract presentations, and poster discussions, participants will explore key topics including lung cancer screening and cancer control, clinical trials in Latin America, advances in surgery and radiation oncology, targeted therapies, immunotherapy, biomarker development, and evolving strategies for early-stage, locally advanced, and metastatic disease. Dedicated sessions will also highlight the essential roles of pulmonology, patient advocacy, and multidisciplinary coordination in modern cancer care.

In addition to scientific exchange, the conference offers meaningful opportunities to connect across disciplines and career stages. Networking breaks, poster viewing sessions, and social events are intentionally woven throughout the program to foster dialogue, collaboration, and the sharing of regional perspectives. Special sessions focused on access to care, cancer control initiatives, gender equity in thoracic oncology, and strengthening local and international partnerships underscore our collective commitment to progress that is both innovative and inclusive.

We are delighted to host the ITMIG community in South America for the first time. São Paulo is one of the largest and most dynamic cities in the world and represents a major center for clinical care, research, and medical education, providing an ideal environment for scientific exchange and collaboration.

The scientific program has been developed to reflect the multidisciplinary nature of thymic and mediastinal diseases, bringing together experts from different specialties and regions. Through invited lectures, interactive sessions, and focused workshops, participants will have the opportunity to discuss current standards of care, emerging evidence, and future directions in the field.

Beyond the scientific content, we hope this joint meeting will foster closer collaboration among international and Latin American specialists, promote new partnerships, and further advance our shared mission of improving outcomes for patients with thymic malignancies.
