OVERVIEW

13th Annual Practical Symposium 2026 is organized by Cockerell Dermatopathology (CDP) and will be held from Aug 20 - 23, 2026 at The Hythe, a Luxury Collection Resort, Vail, Colorado, United States of America.

Description:
Our conference emphasizes real-world dermatologic topics and practical applications for dermatologic physicians and clinicians.  In addition, each topic includes a clinicopathologic component designed to strengthen your diagnostic communications with your dermatopathologist.  Based on the continued popularity of the CME hike, we plan to expand our educational activities for those who desire to learn while enjoying the great outdoors.  Also, the symposium agenda allows numerous networking opportunities between attendees, faculty, and industry partners.

The symposium is an excellent fit for dermatologists, Mohs surgeons, dermatopathologists, pathologists, PAs, NPs, and other providers who seek to deepen their dermatologic knowledge base.  Also, industry research physicians attending will gain a better understanding of their companies’ roles within the dermatology specialty.  Our self-paced e-slide exam assists residents, fellows, and physicians in preparing for the certification or recertification exam.  Approximately 20-25 CME hours and 50+ MOC credits will be available to be earned for all registered attendees.

Educational Objectives:

  • Translate the current trends and future innovations associated with clinical dermatology and dermatopathology.
  • Demonstrate an improved knowledge base of the various treatment options and the use of multiple modalities in treating specific dermatologic disorders.
  • Recall the basic principles for the treatment of dermatologic disorders, including biologics, combination therapy, and evolving treatment options.
  • Implement learned skills about the clinical and histopathologic features, management, and treatment of common skin cancers and non-cancerous skin disorders.
  • Evaluate new diagnostic and treatment algorithms for pigmented neoplasms (including melanoma), carcinomas, and inflammatory conditions.
  • Assess the use of physical therapies in treating skin lesions, including cryotherapy, radiation therapy, photodynamic therapy, and light therapy.
