This symposium is intended to familiarize providers with the classification, diagnosis, and modern multidisciplinary management of Vascular Anomalies. All aspects of Vascular Anomalies care will be discussed with experts in multiple disciplines including dermatology, surgery, diagnostic radiology, interventional neuro and peripheral radiology, genetics, hematology and oncology.

OBJECTIVES:
1. Discuss Indications and Strategies for Surgical Management of Complex Vascular Lesions 

• Outline the indications for surgical intervention in vascular anomalies. 
• Review operative techniques, perioperative considerations, and multidisciplinary approach. 

2. Apply Clinical Decision-Making Through Case-Based Discussion of Blue Rubber Bleb Nevus Syndrome 

• Present a representative case of BRBNS, highlighting diagnostic challenges. 
• Evaluate surgical options for symptomatic gastrointestinal and cutaneous lesions. 
• Discuss outcomes and complications specific to surgical management in BRBNS. 

3. Describe the imaging characteristics and clinical presentations of high- and low-flow vascular malformations.

4. Describe the endovascular treatment strategies of high and low flow vascular malformations. 

5. Review the brief history of the origin of the field of vascular anomalies. 

6. Describe the ISSVA Classification of Vascular Anomalies and molecular biology. 

7. Review medical management of vascular anomalies related to genetics. 

8. Recognize and differentiate common vascular birthmarks in infants, including infantile hemangiomas, nevus simplex, and port-wine birthmarks, and identify key clinical features that inform diagnosis and risk assessment. 

9. Apply current evidence-based management strategies for infantile hemangiomas and capillary malformations, including indications for further evaluation, treatment options, and approaches to complications such as ulceration and syndromic associations including PHACE, LUMBAR and Sturge-Weber syndromes. 

10. Convey basic principles of sclerotherapy in vascular malformations 

11. Discuss when primary care physicians should consider sclerotherapy for vascular malformations. 

12. Review when to use CT, MRI or Ultrasound in the Radiographic Diagnosis in a patient with Vascular anomaly. 

13. Reinforce providers’ knowledge of vascular anomalies through an interactive jeopardy-style session, focusing on accurate diagnosis, up-to-date classification and evidence-based strategies applicable to clinical practice.
