Why Attend the Nerve Block Course:
Multi-modal pain management techniques including ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia are being increasingly utilized outside of the operating room environment. This one-day interactive course is designed for individuals who wish to learn and gain confidence in performing the highest yield nerve blocks for the ED through a combination of didactic lectures and hands-on training. Participants will practice fundamental skills to safely and confidently utilize ultrasound guided regional anesthesia. Topics will include blocks for both pain control and procedural anesthesia.

- Focused Overview and Introduction to Nerve Blocks
- Review of High Yield Nerve Blocks and Techniques Utilized in the ED
- Neck/Truncal Blocks
- Upper Extremity Blocks
- Lower Extremity Blocks
- Small Group Guided Practice Sessions on Models and Simulators
- Learn Proper Ultrasound Probe Positioning and Identify Relevant Anatomical Landmarks for each Nerve Block
- Practice Critical Skill Sets Needed to Perform Nerve Blocks in the Clinical Setting in Pain Management of Patients
