The 112th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Urological Association (JUA 2025) is organized by The Japanese Urological Association (JUA), Congress Corporation and will be held from Apr 17 - 19, 2025 at Fukuoka International Congress Center, Marine Messe Fukuoka Hall A & Fukuoka Sunpalace Hotel & Hall, Fukuoka, Japan.
Theme: “Aiming toward the next 100 years of urology.”
Description:
The year 2025 when the meeting will be held marks the 101st anniversary of the foundation of the Department of Urology at the School of Medicine, Kyushu University. We chose this theme to provide an opportunity to discuss with you what direction urological medicine should take for the next 100 years, as well as to look back on the past 100 years of research, diagnosis and treatment for urological diseases in our department. Surgical operations have evolved from conventional open surgery to laparoscopic surgery and then robot-assisted surgery, with the emergence of various new less invasive medical devices that use lasers, shock waves and water vapor. In terms of drug therapy, for example in cancer treatment, as well as conventional anticancer drugs, new drugs including molecularly targeted drugs, immune-checkpoint inhibitors and antibody-drug conjugates are being developed, leading to significant improvement in prognosis of cancer patients. Diagnosis is also shifting towards precision medicine which uses biomarkers, companion diagnostics and gene panel tests. We would like to discuss with you how to evolve and refine these aspects for the next 100 years.
