Description:
The course introduces rules and regulations governing the work environment, describes how to act as an expert resource in work environment issues at individual and group level through knowledge of methods and application of results of exposure investigations in different work environments.

The meetings and processes that the occupational physician leads in his work should be largely characterized by clear role taking, great commitment and participation, in order to be a driving and involving actor who helps the different parties to participate actively and take their respective responsibilities. Educational elements and training elements are mixed to promote increased learning and integration.

Educational Goals:

• knowledge of risk assessment, risk communication, exposure assessment and correlation assessment
• knowledge of the connections between ill health and exposure in the general environment
• be able to assess the connections between ill health and exposure in the work environment
• master the clinical management of patients with conditions related to exposure in the work environment, with a holistic view of the patient and consideration of the patient's medical, functional, psychological and social situation
• knowledge of methods for investigating exposure conditions in different work environments
• be able to assess and apply the results of exposure investigations when handling cases at individual and group level
• be able to apply knowledge about the identification, evaluation and control of risk factors in the work environment and about measures to improve unfavorable conditions when handling individual and group cases
• To be able to lead processes in a structured and goal-oriented manner according to systemic methods for engagement and anchoring without therefore taking over problem/process ownership
• To have good knowledge/feel confident in leading processes and multi-party meetings
